Division of functions

The site of IFGE will be divided into two functional areas: Section A and Section B.

1. Section B

It is the major demonstration area to be stressed in construction, and major museums and demonstration gardens of IFGE will gather here. Beautiful forests on the uplands and mountains will echo with those in Section A, and will be connected to the tunnels through an overpass.

•  Entrance plaza

The road system will be redesigned, to connect Ji-Xi expressway and Shen-Qi Road and so on, and form a cubic connection with no plane crossing point. Appearance of parking space will be consistent with the artistic design of the large-area scene of the land, so the vigorous atmosphere of festival can be emphasized. In overlooking into the distance, Mantang River Wetland and the western mountains will become the background. Around entrance plaza, such theme buildings can be seen as ticket office, management office, souvenir retailers, restaurant, caf¨¦, bank £¬ and offices for tour guide, security, medical care, articles consignment, conference, etc. The plaza will give visitors a strong vision impact.

•  Greeting boulevard

The subject of Pedestrian Street for Greeting is water and flower. It will cultivate a romantic atmosphere of festival.

•  International gardens

Eighteen international gardens will be built on the east side of the main entrance along the main traveling line. The gardens will be sprinkling inside the forests and the valleys, demonstrating their exotic charisma.

•  Domestic gardens

There are 54 gardens with strong regional taste. The gardens will be designed in consistent with the natural forest space. A concept of biological nature will be emphasized.

•  Special gardens

The large area of special gardens will enhance visitors' participation. Fruits picking, flower planting and bonsai cultivating will attract visitors to personally participate in horticulture to experience and learn natural knowledge that is hardly obtained in modern metropolitan life, and to harvest joys.

•  Shadow rest

The space below forest will be utilized to provide restaurant services or for rests. Wood-plate path, sands, stones and wild flowers will fascinate visitors while they are taking a rest.

•  Wetland

Hydrophyte like aloe and loosestrife will be planted on the bank of the existing low-water belt, to develop a wetland scene that will change with the seasons. When the water level is low, the island will show; when the water submerges the island, only the plants will be shown. Trestles will be set on the water, for visitors to enjoy the wetland and for wild creatures to inhabit.

•  Logistics office

Original buildings will be kept and a separate entrance for vehicle will be built, to avoid intercourse with visitor's line.

•  Comprehensive hall

Motor museum will be rebuilt into a comprehensive hall. Near Shen-Qi Road, it will be a regional marking scene.

•  Greenhouse

A 6000-square-meter greenhouse is planned. In design, we will consider the climate condition of Shenyang, so as to make it possible for citizens to appreciate plants, fish or birds of subtropical and temperate zone in winter. Comprehensive museum will demonstrate not only horticulture, bonsai, ikebana, fish, birds, etc., but also modern agricultural and floricultural technology such as gene conversion, group implantation £¬ soilless culture. When the exposition closes, various researches and training courses can be conducted or given to impart horticultural technology.

•  Lakeside central

area

Certain rebuilding can be made to the present lake for the bank line to be simple and natural. The surrounding area will be carved into sculpture-style landform. Along the lake, spun gold, larch, birch, willow, and other varieties showing the characteristics of northern China can be planted, to show grand and spectacular northern taste. Staying lakeside, one can enjoy the surrounding scene while overlooking the mountain in the distance. Green mountain and water, flower and museum near the mountain will become the natural lakeside scene.

•  Bathing place

Wooden trestle will be set within the Chinese pine forest. Tree houses can be built on the tall arbor, and hammock and tents can be rented in the forest full of flowers. Visitors can enjoy the fascinating nature in the original plant groups.

•  2. Section A

It is located at the present Botanical Garden. Through years of construction, high-level horticulture and complete service facilities can be seen, and complete and independent traveling road system can be found. It mainly includes various special courts such as fern court, hydrophyte court, clove court, azalea court, herb court, etc. The beautiful landscape makes the Botanical Garden an ideal holiday resort of Shenyang people.

•  Water activities

Through increasing colors and enhancing cultural atmosphere, the present game bridge can be perfected.

•  Sports and

recreation area

Children's garden and large-scale recreation facilities will be enhanced, for it to be more attractive.

•  Songfeng Plaza

Central Plaza in section A that can host performance and gatherings will be built by combining the existing sculptures.

•  International garden

It will include Japanese garden, South Korean garden, Italian Garden, etc., with a size from about 10000 to 40000 square meters. We will invite horticultural masters of different countries to revamp and perfect the original gardens, for them to carry typical northern style and become a real international garden with regional feature of northern China.

•  Performance center

The present open-air theatre will be changed, for it to be able to host festival activities and performances in the IFGE. A theatre among the forest can be very romantic.

•  Mesa garden

Current buildings and environment will be rebuilt, to form typical Italian mesa of a grand scale. It will also become an important scene near Shen-Qi Road.

•  Popular science exhibition

Science exhibitions will be increase. So the area will be more attractive.

IFGE will be sited in mountainous forest. With water, hill and forest as the basis, it is advantageous to build a garden. Firstly, we have natural mountains, water, wetland and woods. Secondly, the visitors can appreciate different scenes from nearby, distance, by looking up and down, and in different seasons.

On the basis of the various original sports and recreational facilities, Shenyang IFGE will provide different kinds of spaces for experiencing and interaction in Section B. During the exposition or holidays, various kinds of performances will be held on the open stage or in the small theater, to attract artists or students for ad-lib. Children's recreation facilities, plant labyrinth, slide on the grass slope, small-size animal paradise will be very appealing. Meanwhile, beer garden and fast-food services will help enrich activities.

The original facilities in foreign gardens will be built and foreign culture will be introduced. For instance, we will introduce teaching of Japanese fast food, tea ceremony and ikebana, South Korean cuisines and European bar, caf¨¦, western food restaurant, etc.

In vegetable, melon and fruit garden, the visitors can experience the whole course from planting to picking, and get teaching on potted landscape making and ikebana, etc.

In different seasons, comprehensive museum will present various kinds of demonstrating activities relevant to biological scene, such as photography, painting, music production, etc.

The exposition will actually never close and it will become the favorite resort for citizens at whatever age and class, with whatever hobbies to find space of themselves, and also the open site for Shenyang people to celebrate important days in their lives.
