The Foundation Works for Background Area of International Flower & Gardening Exposition Has Been Completed

The International Flower & Gardening Exposition is situated in the Botanical Garden has posed a very rare opportunity to the development of Qipanshan Scenery Area. What makes the people of development area feel pleased is that the planning right and administrative jurisdiction of the 190 square kilometer land will be unified in 2004.

According to the disposition of city Party committee and Municipal government, Qipanshan Development Area has finished the handing-over of administrative jurisdiction of some towns, villages and communities of Dongling District and Xinchengzi District. After its administrative jurisdiction was enlarged, Qipanshan Development Area organized land reserve center, investment-inviting bureau, agriculture and industry bureau according to the requirements of “International Flower & Gardening Exposition” construction and development of the whole Qipanshan area. It has completed the reporting scheme of overall planning through investigation concerning the Qipanshan administrative area of 190 square kilometers and further specified the key work involving functional orientation and land use layout. In concert with the program for the core area of the “International Flower & Gardening Exposition”, the removal and overall reconstruction work have been finished for the total 16.3 square kilometers involving background area of the Exposition covering an area of 5 square kilometers, 2.3 square kilometer expansion area, 0.98 square kilometers Donghu Paradise area, 5.8 square kilometer Mantanghe River drainage area and the 1.3 square kilometer riverside area in Xiama Village.
